VSRX and vMX are both available from Juniper as free trials (and at the end of the trial you just reinstall and try again.) There is also a rumored vQFX out there, but I haven't personally seen it yet, and my Juniper rep claims to know nothing about it. There was one I saw on Udemy that went through some stuff for JNCIS-SP, but the information included there was the same as what you'd find in Anthony Sequeira's course on CBT Nuggets.

are about all you will find, outside of those outdated O'Reilly books.įor video courses they seem to be limited to the CBT Nuggets series (but that only gets you JNCIA and JNCIS-ENT, no SP or DC tracks.) There may be a few others out there but they don't go into any real depth. Their online tech help, the Day One series, etc. There is no "Cisco Press" equivalent for Juniper.

Is this now the way to run a virtual juniper device? (My juniper login allows me to download vMX but not vSRX) How do they differ from Olive? Is there any way to emulate an mpls network on them? Many years ago I built a Juniper Olive to play with. What are my options? I'd prefer a good quality video course. I want to study on my own, at my own pace. Juniper really want to sell their official courses. Where there are dozens of books for Cisco's CCNA, there is only a handful of outdated O'Reilly books and extremely low quality CBT Nuggets for JNCIA. Getting any cert preparation literature is next to impossible. I have encountered 2 problems with my plan: 1. I would like to get certified, preferably on the data centre or service provider track but obviously, buying equipment to practice on is out of the question for a mere mortal. I also have a few srx240 clusters but I don't touch those very often (no need). I do internal routing on them (external is done through Quagga/Bird BGP boxes) as well as some firewalling. I work with juniper ex4200 and ex4300 switches on a daily basis and I absolutely love how versatile they are. Rule #6: Homework / Educational Questions must display effort.
